Steven Cousins and Adam Coombes are the energetic partners behind Skateworld Inc. A chance meeting playing soccer in Toronto in 1999 has developed into a strong friendship and the realization that together they possess a powerful combination of athletic, creative and organizational skills. Steven Cousins
An eight-time British Skating Champion, Steven has also competed in eight World Championships and three Olympic Games. He was the first Briton to land a triple axel in competition and the youngest male skater to win the Nationals. A charismatic and dynamic performer, Steven has become a favorite with skating fans around the world for his entertaining and fun-loving attitude, both on and off the ice. No matter what the program, his skating reaches out to the audience and his enthusiasm for what he does can be felt all the way to the back row. In 2002, International Figure Skating named Steven one of the "Top 10 Most Beautiful People in Skating." In July of 2002, Steven was honoured to skate as part of the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Since turning professional, Steven has performed in many skating shows, his most recent association being with Stars on Ice, where he took on the role of Performance Director in the 2004/05 tour of Canada and the USA. Steven has also choreographed a number of skating specials for NBC in the States.
Adam Coombes
With an enviable track record in the computer industry, Adam has extensive sales, logistics and distribution experience throughout Europe, North America and the Far East. His knowledge ranges from privately owned businesses to publicly traded companies, and encompasses everything from start-up ventures to Samsung's multi-national operations. Among his many achievements, Adam has set up UK offices for a French company, rebuilt the business operations of a Canadian company, and been the brains behind the logistical infrastructure of a Californian sales office. He has established his own successful black and white photography business and, with his wife Karen, launched KC Cards, a handmade greeting card company, achieving a 300% increase in sales in their second year of operation, with distribution agreements in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and the UK.
